  • Douglas A. Millen devotes his practice to prosecuting direct purchaser price‑fixing class actions and is widely recognized for his leadership in some of the most significant antitrust cases litigated in the United States.


    Mr. Millen is known for his ability to identify, build, and prosecute cartel cases from the ground up. Recently, he played a central role in developing the Frozen Potatoes Antitrust Litigation (N.D. Ill.), following a years‑long investigation that led to JJLM’s appointment as Co‑Lead Counsel. He similarly helped develop In re DPP Beef Antitrust Litigation (D. Minn.), where he was appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee after a lengthy pre‑filing investigation, and which has generated more than $100 million in partial settlements to date.


    Among other significant matters, Mr. Millen served on the Direct Purchaser Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in In re Lithium Ion Batteries Antitrust Litigation, MDL No. 2420 (N.D. Cal.), which obtained nearly $140 million for the class, and as Chair of Discovery in In re Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) Antitrust Litigation, MDL No. 1971 (N.D. Cal.), contributing to recoveries exceeding $210 million. He has also played prominent roles in In re DRAM Antitrust Litigation, In re Vitamins Antitrust Litigation, and In re Rubber Chemicals Antitrust Litigation. Collectively, Mr. Millen’s antitrust matters have contributed to recoveries totaling billions of dollars for direct purchaser class members.


    Mr. Millen currently represents multiple Fortune 500 companies in direct‑action antitrust litigation and advises other multinational corporations on antitrust compliance matters. His work has been recognized by leading industry publications for years, including as a Global Competition Review “Thought Leader”; as a Lexology Index “Thought Leader”;  as an Illinois Super Lawyer; and by Lawdragon as one of the 500 Leading Lawyers in America.
