JJLM ROLE

Team

JJLM attorneys served as Plaintiff's counsel in this nationwide class-action lawsuit on behalf of owners and lessees of Hyundai and Kia vehicles alleging that hundreds of thousands of vehicles were sold with a potentially deadly defect that causes spontaneous engine compartment fires. The defect revolves around the anti-lock brake system (ABS) modules or the hydraulic electronic control unit (HECU) remaining charged with electrical current even when the car is not running, coupled with a defect allowing moisture to enter the electrified components creating a fire risk. On May 5, 2023, Judge Stanley Blumenfeld Jr. of the United States District Court for the Central District of California granted final approval of a settlement valued at $326 million.
